Course Details

Fast. Flat. Focused.

The Cedar Park Mile Run Challenge delivers a pure speed experience inside Elizabeth Milburn Park. Runners launch off a long, straight gravel start before locking into a smooth, paved loop around the park’s open field. With wide turns, minimal elevation change, and zero road crossings, this course is built for rhythm, racing, and personal bests.

Bring your legs. Chase the clock.

🔁 Laps & Distances

Course segment shown: ~0.55 miles (gravel lead-in + paved loop)

1 Mile =  2 laps

 5K (3.1 miles) = 6 laps

Course Overview

Surface: Gravel opening stretch → paved loop

Terrain: Flat with minimal elevation change (~30 ft total)

Layout: Straight gravel lead-in + clockwise paved perimeter loop

🟢 Start – Gravel Straightaway

The race begins at the south end of the park along the wide gravel trail.

Runners head north on a long, straight gravel stretch. This section:

- Is flat and fast

- Allows runners to spread out early

- Serves as the approach into the main loop

🔄 Transition to Paved Loop

At the end of the gravel straight, runners turn right onto the paved trail that circles the large open field.

From here, the course remains fully paved.

Paved Perimeter Loop (Clockwise)

The paved section forms a smooth clockwise loop around the large central field:

Multiple gentle left-hand curves guide runners around the field.

The turns are gradual and flowing, no sharp corners.

The loop stays entirely within park property (no road running).

This section is:

- Very runnable

- Spectator-friendly due to open sightlines

- Ideal for even pacing

🔴 Finish

After completing the paved loop, runners return back toward the gravel corridor and finish near the original start area.
